Dengue fever is common in Thailand, including in urban areas. A significant increase in the number of cases has been reported between January and May 2010. The highest risk period for the disease is during the rainy season, from June to September.
Rabies vaccination is recommended due to a significant presence of rabies and the large number of stray dogs throughout Bangkok. Human deaths have been reported in 2010.
